for Youth
10 Day Sex Education Curriculum
Covers 92% of the California Healthy Youth Act (CHYA) requirements. Topics include Birth Control/Condoms, STIs & HIV/AIDS, Gender and Sexuality, Healthy Relationships, and Consent & Sexual Assault, and more. Teen peer health educators facilitate the Condoms and Healthy Relationships lessons in freshmen health classes.
5 Day Refresher Curriculum
In response to student requests, a refresher curriculum was developed to remind Juniors and Seniors of critical sexual health information before they move on from High School.
Topics include Birth Control/Condoms, Sexual Safety, STIs, and Healthy Relationships
Sex Ed Squad Program
Squad is a safe place for students to explore relevant topics such as sexual health, social justice, mental health, self-advocacy, and community building.
Squad members are trained to be peer health educators, present in classrooms, and share accurate information with their peers.
This after-school program is at all 5 JUHSD High Schools and meets weekly.
